What is a Unigrid ceiling? Grid tiles in a T-bar system

Unigrid is a ceiling of 600×600 and 600×1200 mm grid tiles laid into a T-bar grid. Its structure and typical uses.

LED-framed unigrid modules in a lobby

Unigrid is a ceiling built by placing grid tiles made from aluminium strip into a T-bar suspension system. Because the tiles are modular, the ceiling reads as a fine grid within large squares.

Structure

  • Panel: 600×600 and 600×1200 mm
  • Material: Aluminium strip
  • Grid: T24 or T15
  • Fire rating: A2-s1,d0 (EN 13501-1)

The tiles can sit in the grid in three ways: laid on top of the T-bars, inserted into them, or with the grid fully concealed. This choice sets how visible the T-bar lines are.

The benefit of a modular system

Because Unigrid tiles can be placed and removed one by one, the ceiling void is easy to reach. Where maintenance is needed, the tile is lifted out and put back afterwards. Working with a standard T-bar grid makes it easy to place lighting and services according to the module layout.

Look

With the T-bar lines visible, the ceiling shows large squares with a fine grid inside them. This two-scale order gives large spaces rhythm. The module lines can also be accented with light, as described in lighting a Unigrid ceiling.

Where is it used?

  • Lobbies and reception areas
  • Corridors
  • Large halls and office floors

Conclusion

Unigrid's modular structure creates a ceiling that is both orderly and accessible. For profile types and grid options, read Unigrid profiles and grid options, or request a site survey for your project.
